If you need tires then look no further that Sierra Nevada Tire & Wheel.
The company, owned and operated by Geoff Bodle, has been open for decades and was originally, Toms Sierra Tire and The Tire Exchange.
In 2002 Bodle, 61, started working for the shop as a mechanic. At that time the business operated under the name of Sierra Energy.
Bodle said he started as a mechanic and then as the years progressed, he worked his way up and eventually became the manager of the shop. In 2012, he was given the opportunity to purchase the company.
“I've lived in the community forever,” he said. “The community knows me and I worked here for 10 years.”
The shop, which is located at 659 Main St. in Placerville, is in the building once occupied by Stancil's Toyota, which has a large waiting area, coffee, vending machine, and flat screen TV for customers to watch as they wait to have their tire work done. There is also another shop located at 6505 Pony Express Trail in Pollock Pines.
Bodle said one thing that stands out about the business is that he and his employees are honest when working with customers. He added that being fair with customers is a priority.
“We are 100 percent honest,” he said. “If there is a breakdown in communication, we'll listen and cover whatever it takes to rectify the situation.”
He said that unlike some tire companies that suggest the customer get work done that isn't needed, Sierra Nevada Tire & Wheel does not do that.
“I feel that our prices are very competitive,” he said. “We try to be the least expensive and we stand behind our service.”
When looking at the success he has had with his business, Bodle said he couldn't have done it without his great employees and community backing.
“The guys I have are good quality,” he said. “Everyone knows me and the community supports me.”
